Our Practice Team
Everyone at our practice is committed to providing you with the very best in dental healthcare. Our dental team bring a wealth of experience to the practice and have individually obtained high standards of professional qualification. Treatment and advice is available in Welsh language if preferred.
Professional Registration
All of the dentists at the practice are self employed contractors that are registered with The General Dental Council (GDC), the regulatory body of the dental profession in the United Kingdom. Their address is 37 Wimpole Street, London, W1G 8DQ and their telephone number is 020 7887 3800. Our dentists and staff adhere to the regulations governing the profession by the GDC as set out in their publication "Standards for Dental Professionals". Our nursing staff are either GDC registered if qualified, or undergoing training in conjuction with a GDC recognised training agency.

Originally from Aberdare, where he attended St John Baptist Comprehensive School, John went to study dentistry at Bristol University in 1992. He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1997 and was awarded the American Society of Dentistry for Childrens prize for outstanding interest and proficiency in paediatric dentistry as an undergraduate.
Later that year he joined the Village Dental Practice to complete a years vocational training. After progressing from trainee, to associate, to joint owner, to sole principal of the practice, John is still in Skewen over twenty five years later!
Away from the practice, John loves spending time with his family, which includes two young children. He is a keen movie buff and voracious reader, but his most passionate hobby is rugby, as an (ex) player, avid supporter and is now involved in coaching with his sons rugby team - Penybanc. At present Dr Vaughan has stepped aside from providing clinical patient care to concentrate on overseeing all aspects of the practice management.

Born and raised in Torquay, South Devon, Paul qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 2002. On completing a years vocational training in Ely, he then joined the Village Dental Practice as an associate dental surgeon in 2003.
Now, over 20 years later, Dr Fraser is an integral part of the Village Dental Practice team, and continues to provide high quality dental care for the families of Skewen and the surrounding areas.
An extremely dedicated and conscientious dentist, Paul has built up a great rapport with his patients, having committed himself to the practice for such a long time.
Paul enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and finds the relief of acute dental pain particularly rewarding.
Away from the practice he takes a strong interest in most sports and is a keen cyclist, golfer and swimmer. Most of his time is now spent with his family and two young children.

Born and raised locally in Neath, Dr Parker attended Dwr-Y-Felin Comprehensive School and Gorseinon College. On graduating from Cardiff Dental School Elise joined the Village Dental Practice in 2004. On completion of her vocational training year she was offered an associate position and has been providing quality, patient driven dental care for the communities of Skewen and Neath ever since. Dr Parker particularly enjoys the challenge of treating children and anxious patients. Her spare time is taken up raising her young children but when the chance arises, she likes to take spin classes and go running and has recently completed her first half marathon.

Dr Rhodri Walters is the latest addition to the Village Dental Practice, joining the team in Oct 2019. Born and raised locally in Swansea, Rhodri was a qualified Physiotherapist before deciding on a career move into dentistry. Since qualifying from Peninsula College of Medicine & Dentistry in 2015, Dr Walters has provided both NHS and Private care in Swansea and the surrounding areas and is a fluent Welsh speaker. An enthusiastic practitioner, away from dentistry Rhodri enjoys keeping fit at the gym and spending time with his family.
