Anti Wrinkle Treatments

When muscles in the face contract, they can cause the skin to crease and wrinkle.

Anti wrinkle injection treatments use a purified and refined form of Botulinum toxin A, which works by the protein blocking the nerve impulses in the muscles, leading to a smoothing out of the skins surface.

We use the AZZALURE and BOTOX® brands of Botulinum toxin A.

Separate areas of the face can be targeted by the treatment, and the effect usually lasts 3-5 months. For a more long term effects of the treatment you may need to repeat the injections every 3-5months.

Below is a link to patient advice and frequently asked questions about anti wrinkle injections.

Please note this treatment is provided by us on a Private basis and not on the NHS.

Although the process involves injecting the solution into the facial muscles, with fine needles and a good technique the process is usually only mildly uncomfortable at worst! There is usually no need for local anaesthetics.

An initial consultation costing £40 is required to discuss your needs and concerns, and to assess whether the use of Botulinum Toxin A is the optimal treatment for you to achieve your goals.

This treatment is unsuitable for pregnant women or those breast-feeding. It is also to be avoided if you have a history of allergic reactions, skin infections or suffer from any neuromuscular disorder.

It is also important to note that this type of treatment will only reduce wrinkles that are produced by creasing caused by muscle movement, not wrinkles that persist at rest.

The cost of treatment varies but as a guide

1 site = £165

2 sites = £190

3 sites = £220

We also now provide dermal fillers as a supplement or alternative to anti wrinkle injections. This involves numbing the area to be treated with topical (surface anaesthetic) before injecting a physical filler material such as collagen or hyaluronic acid beneath the surface of the skin to increase the volume in that area. As for the anti wrinkle injections described above, you would require an assessment costing £40 to discuss your suitability for treatment.  Prices start from £200 and rise according to the type and number of areas treated.

These treatments are carried out by one of our general dental practitioners.

A full written quote is provided for your consideration before any treatment is committed to.
